...that might actually be good. Most of my problems seem to be I linger too long on things I shouldn't. A break could do me some good.

[He nods.] Yeah, two ways. I can turn people, including myself, into animals. Turn into a bird and just go.

Or if I want to feel the air on my own face, jump off a tall building. Evolution usually gives wings for the 'don't die' aspect. As long as I maintain a certain height, I keep the wings.

I'm sorry, I should have realized Wild City could do things like that. I suppose I just didn't think about it... I wish I could do the wing thing. But I probably wouldn't be brave enough to try jumping off something first.

[He nods.] Yeah. Any kind of animal. Except dragons. Though dragons are a little hard to define between animal and person, some are more instinct than others.

I'm very used to heights and falling out of the sky back home. [He remembers crashing and he handled that like a boss.] I can turn you into a bird. Can't do wings for your body though.

Being a bird sometime sounds fun, though! Though I would have to be careful of my cats. They'd probably try to attack me or something. It would probably be safer outside of the dorms, I think.

You're careful, right, Rye-kun...? I'd hate to think of you getting hurt.

Oh, definitely outside the dorms. The fun of being a bird is being able to fly and the best place to fly is the open sky.

Plus, the transformation works longer more dangerous the animal, so it'd probably be a hawk or an eagle. Your cats aren't likely to pick that fight.

Of course I'm careful. [HIS DEFINITION OF CAREFUL IS GARBAGE.] I've been flying for years with Toothless.

Probably. If it's too little. About the only thing for time is being able to run away effectively.

It can last like....a day if you're really dangerous. A cat is about an hour. So an eagle or a hawk should be that time or more.

Toothless is my dragon partner. [And then I shall pull out A HAND DRAWN PICTURE OF MY DRAGON.]

[That I keep like a parent for their child.]

To be fair, birds run a bit different.

He is a boy. And yeah. You get all sorts of dragons. I know dozens of species. But Toothless is the best. He's a Night Fury.

We do! He actually got hurt at some point. [Will point out part of the picture that shows his tailfin rig.] Strike classes like him have very precise flying, so losing a tailfin is pretty bad. But with this, I can help him fly. I think we're pretty good at tricks too. It's the best!

[As she should.]

[A pause.] Hard to say. The, ah, time I remember him, he....he got hit by an arrow that left him really drugged up.

But he is a good judge of character. If Toothless trusts someone, I'm willing to trust them, no matter what my other personal feelings are for them. So he's definitely smart.
